      Gifts For Travelers

      Gifts For Travelers

Have someone in your life who's on the go a lot or planning a big trip in 2023? Here are a few ideas. Also, we use many of these every day.

Follow Through Pants by us - you probably realized by now that each gift guide persona features a Youer piece. These pants are comfy for the plane, have large zippered pockets for passports and IDs, and you can wear then a heckuva lot before needing to wash them. They shove in a pack and come out looking great. Alicia and Mallory from team Youer wore them pretty much every day of a work trip to LA this spring - on the plane, to the factories, out to dinner, walking around the city, to the museum, then back again.

Merino Wool Isostatic Top from Alpine Fit - we love a wool top for travel because it's naturally odor repellant, and hardly needs to be washed. After a long day on a plane, you're still fresh and clean! Alpine Fit's fabrics are super soft, plus they're made at their workshop in Anchorage Alaska.

Charger case - One single place for all of the cords you need when traveling. It is small enough that it keeps you from over packing but has enough space for all the essentials.

Packing Cubes from Fishewear - keeps clothes organized so you don't grab dirty undies accidentally! These are a travel MUST. These feature fun fish art from another Alaska brand.

Mini Travel Speaker from JBL - super small and slips onto a bag easily but also throws some decent sound! Great for when you want to listen to music in a new place but also if you need white noise to help you sleep at night.

Cashmere Silk Scarf - This has so many uses when travelling - pillow (and putting over your eyes to darken the cabin light), blanket, scarf, shawl, hair wrap. Plus it's ethically and sustainably made.

Snacks from Kates Real Food - Nutrient dense, whole grain bars to keep your gut feeling good while you're on the move. These are great trail bars, plane bars or a tasty addition to the office kitchen.

Spotify Premium - if she's on the free version, treat her to an upgrade for $9.99/month. With premium, she can download playlists and podcasts to listen in airplane mode and build unlimited playlists for every mood of her trip. And no ads, we're over ads.

      Founder Gift Guide

      Founder Gift Guide

Call me materialistic, but I LOVE STUFF! Always have, always will. Maybe it's the designer in me, but having tangible things around me that I love and appreciate brings me great joy. So many of you reach out to ask what things I love, that I decided to compile a list of very gift-able favorites. Here's a selection of some of my favorite things, that might become yours too.

      1) UPLINE: TRIFOLD CLUTCH WALLET
This is by FAR the most amazing wallet I've ever had. So good, that I had Donovan make me a custom one from an old banner after my last one lasted 5 YEARS! It has so many pockets for cards, change and general junk. And it's too big to lose or misplace, which is imperative for me - I lose everything. Made in Missoula from upcycled banners and bike tubes!

      2) HEC STUDIO: MOUNTAIN SERIES BEANIE
I wear this beanie every single day from September-May. No joke. The color is so fun and bright, and it makes every day a great hair day. The side patch is an incredible applique of a mountainscape. Sewn by my friend Sarah in a solar-powered bus named Lucy at 10k' in Colorado.

      3) OVEJA NEGRA: ROYALE HIP PACK
This might just be the best thing I bought myself in 2021. Everywhere I go I get compliments on it and it's versatile as heck. Originally I bought it for mountain biking, but I use it as a slingsack/purse daily. This is what Oveja Negra calls a 'wack pack' - they choose the colors/fabrics/details for you based on what they have available. When it arrives at your door it's a total surprise. This one owuldn't have been more perfect. High viz, camo and rainbow stitching. Mmm mmmm. Oh, and it's made in Salida CO by incredibly cool people.

      4) THE SALMON SISTERS; FISHING FEASTING AND LIVING IN ALASKA
Emma and Claire, the Salmon Sisters, have an incredibly inspiring story which is illustrated beautifully in the pages of this book. Their lives in Alaskan commercial fishing with their family, have generated super tasty wholesome recipes and a deep appreciation for the land. These two women are true gems.

      5) EAT FEEL FRESH by SAHARA ROSE KETABI
Beautiful food photography is a requirement of mine in cookbooks and Eat Feel Fresh is the ultimate in beautiful food. Sahara teaches the principles of Ayurvedic eating, and lays out recipes that work best for your individual style. Plant based, tasty, and fresh, I reach for this book when I want to feel energized.

      6) PACIFICA: GLOW BABY SERUM
This smells divine - like citrus vanilla, and I want to drink the whole bottle. I put it on every single morning and I feel alive and awake. Vegan and cruelty free and full of food-for-your-face ingredients. It's a treat to myself every morning!

      7) TRULY: VEGAN COLLAGEN FACE MASK
For those who live in dry climates, this is a winter must-use. It's a fun jelly texture that goes on easily at night and washes off with a few splashes of warm water in the morning. Leaves my skin hydrated and bright and I love that the collagen is vegan. The packaging feels very luxurious - heavy glass jar with a brass lid.

      8) LOW TIDE LANDING: AVALON ABALONE KELP RING
The sea-inspired jewelry from Low Tide Landing is all incredibly gorgeous, but I particularly love the rings. They're sculptural and interesting and the stones are a fun divergence - sea glass or abalone. They make a lot of stacking rings which are my favorites.

      9) CLEMENTINE & CO: CACTUS SPINE EARRINGS
Emily makes all of my most favorite earrings. They're all so well crafted, super unique yet timeless. These are cactus spines! The ear wires are the absolute perfect shape and I love how they're all integrated into the entire earring design.

      10) KETA HANDMADE: VENUS AND MARS EARRINGS
I love hoops, and these are such a fun, and slightly anarchist, approach to them. They're the perfect bit of edginess that I'll add to a professional outfit and they're light and well made. 35% of sales are donated to organizations that support women and the LGBTQIA+ community!

      11) CITIZEN BURRO: MERINO WOOL SHORTIES
Every morning I made a smoothie and wrap the metal cup in one of these merino wool sleeves. Wow. What a pleasant tactile way to start the day. It's soft and cozy and keeps my hands warm. Plus, Kelly Sue Enfield, the founder, was a finalist in this Title Nine's Pitchfest this year, and I had the opportunity to meet her in person. Citizen Burro makes a whole range of sleeves for all kinds of different drinkware. SUCH A GIFTABLE THING!

      12) SIMPLY STRAWS: GLASS STRAW SET
I also use this every morning with that smooth. A simple glass straw makes drinking smoothies at home super fun. And it's very easy to clean with the included brush. I've dropped it on my kitchen tile several times and it's still in tact!

      13) IN THE COMPANY OF WOMEN by GRACE BONNEY
The coffee table book of entrepreneurial dreams. Compiled by Design Sponge founder Grace Bonney, this is a lovely collection of snippets of wisdom from some of the most creative women out there. Every time I need some inspiration I pick it up and read a few pages. It's a beautiful hard cover with glossy photos of workspaces.

      14) THE IMMORTALISTS by CHLOE BENJAMIN
I read a ton of non-fiction, business-y books so I balance it out with some flippable fiction before bed. This story is nothing short of beautiful and chronicles the fantastically tragic lives of siblings as they live out their fates given to them by a NYC fortune teller. Couldn't put it down! I'm a super slow reader - I read about 2 fiction books a year - but I finished this one in just a few days!

      15) SKHOOP: KLARA DOWN JACKET
Hands down my favorite thing right now is my incredible metallic pink puffy. They don't make this color anymore, BUT this jacket is WARM AF. I'm a very cold person, and my entire life have struggled to stay warm when outside in the winter. I'm finally warm in this jacket! I bought a size up so it's cozy and it's the perfect jacket for resort ski days. Expertly designed and made (Skhoop is based in AK!), I adore everything Skhoop makes.

      16) - SET ACTIVE: SCULPTFLEX® LEGGINGS
I design a lot of prints (that's kinda Youer's thing), but I love wearing solid bottoms with our dresses. SET is my go-to for amazing basics with amazing performance. Their brand and style is so well developed and their team is very talented. I have bras, tops, leggings and onesies from them and I love them all. Many of their pieces are made the USA too! Their color names are awesome - Oatmilk, Hug, Snowcone - and they have very exciting product drops.
